Gardens moved to Hunger in Moose Jaw!

After administering the gardens program since 2006, Connecting As Neighbours was forced to close its doors on October 29, 2010. We were all sad to see this organization come to an end, especially after all the programs started and people positively affected since CAN's beginning in 2001.

However, this cloud has a silver lining. Hunger in Moose Jaw has offered to administer the Yara Community Gardens out of their office on Stadacona St. W. Since Hunger in Moose Jaw's mandate is "nuturing children and their families," the community gardens have a natural fit. Hunger in Moose Jaw deals with issues of food security, nutrition, and community development daily in all of their programs -- from the Headstart Community Preschool, to the Child Nutrition Program and Good Food Box.

We are excited to start this new chapter with our friends at Hunger in Moose Jaw!
